Gary Flory
Gary Flory is the founder of Global Outbreak Solutions, an internationally recognized consulting firm he established in 2004 to help clients navigate the challenges of transboundary and zoonotic animal disease response, training, and research. With hands-on experience in more than a dozen countries—including Vietnam, Brazil, Côte d’Ivoire, and Guatemala—Gary has led emergency response efforts, advised governments, and delivered training programs worldwide.
He has worked with leading global organizations such as USDA, FAO, PAHO, and WOAH, and currently serves on FAO’s African Swine Fever Global Pool of Expertise. Gary is also a Senior Fellow at Texas A&M University’s Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases.
A respected author and speaker, Gary has contributed to key resources like the FAO Carcass Management Guidelines and USDA’s Catastrophic Composting Protocol. His practical, collaborative approach helps teams build stronger biosecurity systems and respond confidently to disease threats.
